Where to donate books

There is no such thing as an unwanted book. When it comes to my kids, I have a hard time getting rid of their things. I have toys and books from when they were babies. Whenever possible I prefer to donate their old things instead of throwing them away. Below are three places, I like to donate our used books.

Zappos for Good – Zappos for Good partners with a program called Spread the Word Nevada. All you have to do is visit the Zappos website, log into your account or create one if you do not have one and then print the label. This will allow you to ship up to 50lbs of books free of charge. This nonprofit organization seeks to provide books to children within low-income communities through three programs: Books & Buddies, Kids to Kids and Books with Buddies. I also utilize for Zappos for Goods to donate lightly used shoes, clothes, and school supplies.

Neighborhood Library Box- If your neighborhood has a library box you could donate to it. If your neighborhood doesn’t have a box, you could visit the Little Free Library and create one for your neighborhood.

Children’s Hospitals-Hospitals and doctor’s offices will often take children’s books to help calm the nerves of the little kids during their appointments. This also gives them something to do while waiting.
